More of Our Village

A Village is made up of individuals as well as businesses and we are fortunate to have many who support our work. People who have adopted dogs from us are so impressed with their northern dogs that they want to give back any way they can.

David Friesen offered his restaurant for the "Winter Dogs" fundraiser before he had even adopted one of our pups. He understood the need and was more than generous in all he did for us. David is a master chef and he supports Savour Muskoka which promotes the use of ingredients grown or produced in the Muskoka region. The Riverwalk Restaurant is part of the community we share and we are both proud and grateful to be associated.

Mario Ricci, of Man Paints Dog, is more than a talented artist. He is able to capture the soul of  dog and express it's character through his work. He offers us a true moment in time in all he creates and gives us a memory we can revisit over and over again. Whether he works with oils or water colours he will take your breath away with the finished product. A percentage of all the work he sells is generously donated to Moosonee Puppy Rescue and we thank him for that.

Flint, in the arm chair, is Mario's dog and Huck is ours.

Yvonne Boothroyd is an amazing photographer who has taken pictures of her own Moosonee Puppy Rescue dog Lucy many times. Lucy is the subject of greeting cards Yvonne created and sells to support our rescue work. The dogs she photographs seem to understand what she is asking for and they give it to her willingly - a rare happening.

Laurie LeClair and her dog Nim have become well known in their neighbourhood of Toronto. Together they spread the word on Moosonee Puppy Rescue and what it means to rescue a dog. Laurie even created her own label, "Rescue Knits", to help the work we do and all proceeds come to us. Her Karma scarves are most unique because, while knitting, she focuses on rescue dogs and sends them thoughts of hope with each stitch. We are more than just grateful, we are impressed.
Her items can be purchased through Fetch or by emailing laurie.leclair@rogers.com
