Our Village

It takes a village to rescue a dog and that is the simple truth. We are most fortunate to have a village and I appreciate all involved - both individuals and businesses. Knowing that so many dogs up north are still waiting to be understood and valued is heart breaking. We work together to rescue, heal and save lives.
Over the years we have made lasting friends with people who have adopted our dogs. They support and plan our fundraisers, spread the gospel on rescue work, talk us through our dark days and believe in what we do. The days would be far too long without these people and I appreciate them all.
When a business is able to look up from what it does to see a need or respect an effort I am impressed. We share our success with several such businesses who became involved simply because we needed them to. Rarely is there something in it for them other than goodwill, and that is rare today.

Nadia Brooks had so many Moosonee Puppy Rescue dogs living in her Roncesvalles neighborhood that she asked to hear their stories. She was so impressed with the dogs that she contacted us and offered to host an Adoption Day at her store in Toronto. We had never considered such an event but Nadia's suggestions interested us so much that we gratefully accepted. Her enthusiasm and planning created a wonderfully successful day and seven pups were adopted because of Nadia's introduction to people who would not have met them otherwise. Fetch now carries our t-shirts, note cards and totes and accepts donations on our behalf. In return, we gladly shop in her most delightful store and Stillwater especially appreciates the raised water and food bowls purchased there.

PetValu Canada donates food from their warehouse in Brampton when they have a surplus. We greatly appreciate their generosity and the extra effort required from the warehouse staff.

eyedeas design & communications inc. uses their creative talents, energy and resources to assist us with any printing needs we have. They most recently designed the tickets for the Spring 2011 fundraiser. We simply cannot thank them enough for their inspiration and expertise.

We are more than fortunate to work with the vets we do. So much of what we accomplish would not be possible without them. Whether it be by providing information or performing major surgery they work with us to improve the lives of the dogs in our care. They understand rescue work and value each and every dog we take them. We greatly appreciate Ian White D.V.M, Peter Jones D.V.M and Kit Lee BSc D.V.M. Chiropractic.
There are two clinics and we highly recommend them both.

Ron Henry Jewellers are kind enough to provide the sterling silver dogs tags we wear and sell. The engraved  words, "Rescue a dog and it rescues you right back" speak to how fortunate we are to work with these remarkable animals. The kindness and support of Ron Henry Jewellers is greatly appreciated.
